KUCHING, April 1: Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDS Baru) conveyed their condolences to the family members of former PBDS deputy president, Andrew Puro, who passed away at his home this morning.

PBDS Baru secretary general Julius Enchana in a press statement today said, Andrew Puro was a man of honour and always put the community’s interest more than himself.

According to Julius, the late Andrew Puro had contributed a lot to the party since he joined PBDS, including to the non-governmental organisation (NGO) as well as the Bidayuh community in particular, and he was also the chairman for PBDS Puncak Borneo.

“Although he was gone, his and the late Cobbold Dayakism spirit will always be with us and we will continue with the Dayak Agenda as Dayak recognition in Malaysia, and PBDS Baru would like to convey condolences to his family and may his soul rest in peace,” he said.

The late Andrew Puro passed away this morning at his home due to illness. He was the one of the core members of the party and backbone of the party since he was elected as deputy president in 2018.

At the same time, Julius noted the late Andrew’s Dayakism spirit and enthusiasm had also brought the party to be well recognised in the Bidayuh constituency.

“In regards to this, he and other supreme council members always emphasised that PBDS is not a racial party, but it was a multiracial political party to charter all indigenous and native people of Sarawak,” he added. — DayakDaily
