“Currently, all the 82 PBB branch meetings are underway. So far, only one branch has completed the meeting.

“There are still 81 branches to go and we hope to complete this before the general meeting at the branch level in December,” he said at a press conference after a PBB Supreme Council meeting, chaired by the party’s president, who is also the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, at the party’s headquarters here last night.

Nanta, also the Works Minister, said that the 82 branches will be divided into four zones to facilitate the coordination of meetings.

The South Zone will be coordinated by PBB Senior Vice President Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof, the Betong Zone by PBB Deputy President Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, the Central Zone by Nanta, and the North Zone by PBB Deputy President Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

According to Nanta, next year’s general assembly will also include an election for party committee members.

Meanwhile, when asked whether there will be any contests for party positions, he replied that it depends on the nominations. — DayakDaily
