PBB sec-gen urges party veterans to empower young leaders for long-term success

KUCHING, March 17: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) secretary-general Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi wants the younger generation to play an active role in the party’s development and sustainability.

“PBB is well-known for its well-organised organisational structure, including the provision of backup lines to carry on the legacy of leadership based on the spirit of tolerance and agreement,” Nanta was quoted as saying in a TVS news report.

The PBB secretary-general made the remarks during his speech at PBB N78 Mulu’s ‘Majlis Jasamu Dikenang’ yesterday (March 16) at a hotel in Miri.

Nanta, who is also the federal Minister of Works, wants the party veterans to make room for the new generation to hone their skills and develop holistically from all angles in order to ensure the party’s long-term sustainability.

Earlier in the ceremony, the minister presented 56 certificates of appreciation to veteran PBB party members from its Mulu branch who paved the way and contributed to the party’s success over 30 years ago.

Also present was PBB vice president and Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration, and Project Monitoring), Datuk Gerawat Gala. — DayakDaily
