KUCHING, June 25: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu’s (PBB) top leadership will hold a meeting to discuss Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin’s application to join the party, said its secretary-general Dato Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.

“This matter cannot be decided by one leader alone because it needs to be refined and consider the views of the party’s top leaders,” he told reporters after visiting a cooking oil packaging premises in Jalan Penrissen today.

When asked by reporters when the meeting would be held, Nanta said he had not received any date set for it.

At the same time, Nanta pointed out that he is aware of Willie’s application to join the party through the media and only learned about Lubok Antu MP Jugah Muyang’s application to join PRS through the press.

“I have not seen whether he has applied or not, just that the media is saying that he is applying,” Nanta added.

On June 20, Datuk Willie Mongin, who is also Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, said he had submitted his application to join PBB.

Meanwhile, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Supreme Council members decided that Jugah must re-apply through the party’s divisional branch of Engkilili to join the party. — DayakDaily
