KUCHING, Mar 24: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) is not only focused on present-day development, but also on planning for the future—particularly in shaping and nurturing the next generation of leaders.
According to PBB secretary-general Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, the party’s younger generation must continue to be guided and given opportunities so that the continuity of the party’s struggle, especially in Kapit, where he serves as the elected representative, is always ensured.
He cited his political secretary, Datuk Alvin Runggah Jimbun, who has been groomed over a long period and has extensive experience in PBB and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
“He not only understands the intricacies of administration but has also demonstrated a strong commitment to serving the people.
“In this regard, I am of the view that when the time comes for me to step down in the future, Datuk Alvin Runggah Jimbun is among the individuals who should be considered as a candidate to succeed me in the Kapit parliamentary seat.
“He has the capability and suitability to shoulder the responsibility of continuing the development agenda and safeguarding the welfare of the people,” he said, referring to news reports saying that Alvin may be his successor.
Ultimately, said Nanta, who is also the Works Minister, what is important is that the party’s struggle is for the people.
“The future of Kapit must continue to be led by individuals who are credible, experienced, and committed,” he said. — DayakDaily
