PBB leader chides Vernon for instigating Sarawakians

Datuk Idris Buang ... matured and united lawmakers

KUCHING, Nov 29: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) today warned Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Betong Division chief Vernon Kedit over his repeated attempts to incite hatred among Sarawakians towards the state’s local-based parties, especially Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

Its information chief, Datuk Idris Buang, opined that Vernon’s repeated social media posts were made out of malice to instil hatred and to create disharmony and chaos among Sarawakians just for the sake of personal gain, warning that Vernon’s instigation would eventually come back to bite him.

“I am referring to his Facebook post this morning on the launch of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), mentioning cracks and split in GPS.

“The post reflects his pride, which is clearly seditious, with the intention of seeing Sarawak being split at the same time to poison people’s minds by instigating a siege mentality.

“I believe Sarawakians would know better on what would be best for Sarawak,” said Idris in a statement today, adding that only local-based parties in Sarawak would know what is best for Sarawak.

He also pointed out that Vernon’s actions intended to blind Sarawakians from the unfulfilled promises made by the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government.

From the meagre budget allocation for the state to the PH election manifesto, it clearly showed that the state PH is being ignored by their federal counterpart, said Idris.

As such, the GPS government under Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg had to use the state’s own funds to carry out development responsibilities, which was supposed to be under the jurisdiction of the federal government, such as schools, roads and other rural development programmes.

He said Sarawakians now know the reality of the situation and know what’s best for Sarawak. — DayakDaily
