KUCHING, Nov 12: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) could comfortably win 28 out of 31 seats in Sarawak in the coming 15th General Election (GE15) with extra effort needed for the remaining three seats, predicted Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) information chief Dato Idris Buang.

“It is possible to have 31 seats, but it is quite comfortable to have 28 seats,” he told reporters during a ‘chit chat’ session held at PBB Headquarters at Jalan Diplomatik here today.

When pressed on naming the seats, he responded, “I will leave it to you to explore.”

On P196 Stampin, he opined that GPS candidate Lo Khere Chiang has very few issues that can be used against him compared to the incumbent Chong Chieng Jen of the Democratic Action Party (DAP).

He also posed questions about what Chong did for Sarawak when the latter was a deputy minister during the 22-month administration of Pakatan Harapan (PH).

“What role did he and Baru Bian (of Parti Sarawak Bersatu) play behind the cancelled projects?

“Did he ever care for the feelings of Sarawakians when the projects were cancelled? If he wants to win (Stampin) seat, he must answer this question first. Otherwise, choose Lo.

“Lo has good credentials where he can bring more for Sarawak and Stampin residents if he becomes an MP. He will get more funds for the area,” he added.

Idris further mentioned that Lo, who is also Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman, if elected as an MP, will strengthen the people in Padawan and strives to work hard. — DayakDaily
