SPAOH, Nov 17: The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Bukit Saban Branch has announced its intention to propose a resolution for party president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to retain his position unchallenged for the 2024-2027 term during the party convention early next year.

According to a press release, PBB Bukit Saban Branch chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas praised Abang Johari’s leadership as the Premier of Sarawak, describing him as a visionary and highly respected figure both locally and internationally.

He noted that during the recent Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) session, Abang Johari announced a projected revenue collection of RM14.2 billion and a development fund of RM10 billion for 2025.

Of the RM10 billion amount, 62 per cent has been allocated for rural development.

“With him (Abang Johari) still helming PBB and Sarawak, we are going to be in very safe hands.

“We have been recognised as a high-income region and I am confident we will be able to maintain this status in the years ahead,” Uggah said during the PBB Bukit Saban Women and Youth Wings’ meeting today.

At the event, Uggah acknowledged outgoing branch leaders who had stepped aside to enable a smooth leadership transition. These included former Wanita Chief Nahairah Spawi, succeeded by Natasha Nasa Uggah, and former Youth Chief Martin Ngindang, replaced by Mohd Aizat Dollah.

Earlier, Uggah was re-elected as PBB Bukit Saban Branch chairman unopposed. His nomination by former Betong MP Datuk Robert Lawson Chuat received unanimous support from all 17 sub-branches.
