KUCHING, Sept 27: The Para Sarawak athletics squad has exceeded expectations by surpassing their 30 gold medal target with an impressive performance at the 21st Para Malaysia Games (Para Sukma) 2024.
According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, the team’s performance was described as “amazing.”
Head coach Matthew Chin announced that the team had secured a total of 33 gold medals in the competition so far.
“The proudest aspect of this achievement is that many of the gold medals were contributed by new talents,” Chin remarked.
Following the intense one-week event, Chin mentioned that all the athletes would be given a well-deserved rest to fully recover.
He added that training will resume in November as they prepare for Para Sukma 2026, which will be held in Selangor.
