KUCHING, Jan 21: Pansar Berhad, a listed company on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia announced that its subsidiary Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd (PESB), has won a contract worth RM478 million to design and build roads from Serian to Gedong.
The company in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today said PESB has received a letter of acceptance from the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) for the design and build of the proposed Serian-Gedong-Samarahan dual carriageway highway (Package 1: Simpang Rayang/Munggu Kopi/Tanah Puteh/Sebemban to Gedong District) for Section 1B: New Road from Simpang Tanah Puteh to Gedong Isthmus.
The project has a contract value of RM477.68 million awarded via invited tender.
The scope of work for the project involved the design and construction of 8.5 kilometres of a new four-lane JKR R5 road (dual carriageway) including two bridges, an Autonomous Rail Transit (ART) reserve, bicycle tracks, utility corridors, road lighting, road furniture, and signs.
Pansar said the contract period is 36 months and the project is scheduled to start in February 2025.
“The contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of the group as the project progresses during the contract period,” Pansar said.
Meanwhile, Pansar’s share price closed unchanged today at 57 sen per share with 65,900 shares traded. — DayakDaily
