KUCHING, Aug 12: The magnificent Panggau Dayak Towers, housing the Dayak Cultural Foundation (DCF) and Dayak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) along Jalan Ong Tiang Swee here, have been completed and are now set for their official inauguration on Aug 19.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas disclosed that the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg is slated to grace the opening ceremony.
“The two buildings (DCF Tower and DCCI Tower) have been completed.
“However, there is an ongoing residential component, which comprises an apartment and condominium. That is still in progress,” he told reporters during a visit to inspect the development of the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) Complex at its project site, also situated at Jalan Ong Tiang Swee, here today.
Earlier, Uggah visited the Panggau Dayak Towers to check the buildings’ status and readiness for the official unveiling.
The new headquarters for DCF and DCCI, featuring two nine-storey office towers, are situated on a five-acre plot of land and have been developed at a cost of RM103 million.
This establishment stands as a meaningful testament to the Dayak community’s active involvement in Sarawak’s commercial and cultural advancement.
Abang Johari performed the groundbreaking ceremony to mark the commencement of the construction on Oct 20, 2020.
Reports indicate that the residential component, known as PD Residence, will encompass the ‘Kapitan’ apartment block and ‘The Grange’ condominium complex.
The ‘Kapitan’ block will rise five stories and house 30 apartment units, while ‘The Grange’ will feature an 80-unit condominium setup. — DayakDaily
