KUCHING, April 22: Pakan district reverted to an orange zone from a yellow zone after recording 26 infections in the past 14 days.
State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today said the addition of Pakan district today brings the total number of districts in the orange zone status to five districts.
“Sri Aman also returns to orange zone status from a red zone today after only a total of 35 cases were recorded in the past two weeks, which reduced the number of districts in red zones to 21 districts,” it said.
SDMC noted as of today, Lundu district is now no longer a green zone after being classified a yellow zone with one infection recorded.
“This brings the total number of districts in yellow zones to 11 districts,” the statement read.
As of today, the 21 districts classified as red zones are namely Song, Tatau, Bukit Mabong, Belaga, Kanowit, Selangau, Saratok, Subis, Matu, Mukah, Sarikei, Beluru, Samarahan, Serian, Julau, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu.
Five district namely Betong, Sri Aman, Sebauh, Pakan and Marudi are orange zones, while Lundu Kabong, Asajaya, Pusa, Bau, Dalat, Daro, Lubok Antu, Tanjung Manis, Tebedu and Limbang are yellow zones.
Three other districts namely Lawas, Telang Usan, and Simunjan retain their green zone status. — DayakDaily
