KUCHING, Sept 11: Padawan district police have arrested two drug suspects, aged 30 and 25 respectively, on Thursday.
Padawan district acting police chief, DSP Lim Jaw Shyong said the 30-year-old male suspect was arrested at a shop in RPR Batu Kawa area at 11 am.
“Police later checked the suspect and a transparent packet with 6.60 grammes of crystal-like substances which were believed to be methamphetamine was found in the suspect’s trousers’ pocket,” he said in a press statement.
According to Lim, the suspect told the police that this was the first time he procured the drugs from one of the men from the same area by paying him RM400.
“Police is now tracking the man and the source of the drugs to prevent more drug activities from happening,” he added.
Lim continued that the 25-year-old drug suspect was arrested behind a shop in RPR Batu Kawa area at 11.20 am.
“Police later found eight red-coloured transparent packets with a total of 5.05 grammes of drugs which were believed to be methamphetamine in the suspect’s cigarette box.
“A cigarette which was believed to have 0.74 grammes of marijuana in it was found inside the cigarette box as well,” Lim noted.
He pointed out that the 25-year-old suspect picked the drugs at the roadside of Jalan Stampin on Wednesday evening after he bought the drugs by using bank-in method.
“Padawan District Police will intensify the operation in combating illegal drug activities by tracking down all the drug suppliers,” Lim added.-DayakDaily
