“It really gives us confidence and motivation to deliver an efficient, reliable, and sustainable public transport system for Sarawak,” he said as quoted by the press release.

He reiterated that the company remains committed to developing a public transport system that is safe, reliable, and environmentally friendly, under the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) project.

The interview session, held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), attracted almost 2,000 candidates.

It focused primarily on filling positions under the Operations and Maintenance Division, including Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) vehicle drivers, Hydrogen Bus drivers, Assistant Schedulers, Station Officers, and Technicians in various disciplines—drawing in candidates from both in and out of Kuching.

“This underscores Sarawak Metro’s commitment towards providing job opportunities for locals in developing a modern, efficient, and sustainable public transport system for Sarawak.

“Sarawak Metro continues to strengthen its role in advancing a hydrogen-powered public transport system, in line with Sarawak’s Green Mobility agenda,” said the company.

This effort not only highlights the company’s dedication to sustainable urban mobility but also creates the need for additional skilled personnel to operate and maintain the KUTS, ensuring smooth, reliable, and safe public transport services for the future.

Sarawak Metro also emphasised its dedication to shaping a sustainable mobility ecosystem while creating meaningful employment opportunities that contribute to the State’s social and economic development. — DayakDaily
