KUCHING, March 27: Malaysian and non-Malaysian travellers from overseas and transiting through Singapore to Sarawak will have to bear the costs of professional RTK-Antigen tests upon arrival at point of entry.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its latest guidelines for international travellers planning to enter Sarawak by air, said they are required to refer to the healthcare lab service provider at point of entry for the latest rates.

Non-Malaysians specifically must purchase Covid-19 insurance from the insurance provider at point of entry, at their own cost as well.

Travellers transiting via Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu and Johor to Sarawak are required to undergo professional RTK-Antigen tests within 24 hours of arrival at first point of entry before they will be allowed to proceed to transit to domestic destinations.

Only those with low-risk status on their MySejahtera app and a completed Pre-Departure Form are permitted to proceed to transit into Sarawak.

The updated regulations will be effective April 1, 2022. — DayakDaily
