KUCHING, Mar 24: Under the Madani government, more than RM1 billion in allocations has been channelled for development in Kapit—showing that no one is left behind.

According to Kapit MP, Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, among the key projects is the construction of a road on the left bank upstream of Batang Rajang, which Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced during his visit to Kapit.

Nanta, who is also the Works Minister, said the government also approved the construction of a direct road to Nanga Seranau with an estimated cost of around RM400 million.

Other projects, he said, include the construction of a new district police headquarters (IPD) and a MARA Professional College in Kapit.

“All these projects are the result of close cooperation between the federal and State governments, as well as the commitment of elected representatives who continue to work hand in hand to ensure that development in Kapit progresses rapidly,” he said in a Facebook post.

In ensuring inclusive development, he also assured that no one will be left behind, as at the moment, Sarawak is in a stronger financial position, enabling it to intensify development efforts throughout the State.

“The establishment of the Upper Rajang Development Agency (URDA) in Kapit is among the strategic steps taken to strengthen development in this region.

“With the strengths we now have, we are better able to assert Sarawak’s rights more effectively with the federal government,” he said.

Meanwhile, during the Leaders with the People programme, which Nanta attended on Sunday (Mar 23) at the home of Josceline Lia Endau, Emperan Pedalai Mansau, Mumu, Kapit, he also announced an allocation of RM30,000 for the construction of a store and kitchen, as well as RM15,000 for the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK). — DayakDaily
