Over 4,000 take part in Niti Daun parade in Mukah

KUCHING, July 5: The Niti Daun parade held at Pehin Setia Raja Square in Mukah recently saw 4,000 participants taking part in it.

According to a news report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Deputy Minister of Economy Dato Hanifah Hajar Taib said that held for the first time in Mukah, the parade saw participation from various races, namely Iban, Melanau, Chinese, Bidayuh, Orang Ulu, and Malay; including other ethnicities in Mukah.

“We can witness various races joining hands to celebrate the Ngiling Bidai festival with a spirit of unity.

“The presence of all shows the best example of racial harmony and unity in Sarawak that should be emulated,” she said when attending the Mukah Ngiling Bidai Festival 2024 ceremony.

She said the parade also showcases the uniqueness and cultural diversity of the people of Sarawak to the country.

“This is proof that cultural arts and customs are still preserved to this day, and I hope that future generations can continue them,” she added. — DayakDaily
