KUCHING, Sept 17: More than 100 initiatives planned and implemented by the Sarawak government under Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg have benefitted the State and Sarawakian as a whole.

According to Minister of Transport Datuk Lee Kim Shin, among the key initiatives that Abang Johari has implemented since becoming the Chief Minister in January 2017, are the formation of Development Bank of Sarawak (DBOS), Petros, Hydrogen bus, Kenyalang Gold Card, Bantuan Sarawakku Sayang (BKSS) package, and Sarawak Pay.

He pointed out this includes the financial assistance for all new mothers (RM450), Endowment Funds Sarawak (EFS) worth RM1,000 to every child born in the State, regardless of their race, religion and socio-economic status.

“Apart from that, to ensure a comprehensive and balanced development throughout Sarawak, the Chief Minister also has established the Upper Rajang Development Agency (URDA), Highland Development Agency (HDA), Sri Aman Development Agency (SADA), Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA) and the Integrated Regional Samarahan Development Agency (IRSDA).

“All this and many more are very clear examples of what our Chief Minister has done to uplift the rakyat’s standard of living,” he said.

Lee said this in his speech during the State-level Malaysia Day celebration themed with “Malaysia Prihatin, Malaysia Menang Bersama”, which was broadcasted live via TV Sarawak’s Youtube page, last night.

In the meantime, Lee said the contribution and services from the Head of the State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud for having implemented various developments during his time as our Chief Minister should also not be forgotten.

For example, he said, the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE), Samalaju Industrial Zone in Bintulu and Samajaya Industrial Zone in Kuching and many other things that he has planned and implemented are major contributors to Sarawak’s economy.

“All of this also provide thousands of employment opportunities to Sarawakians,” he added.

Lee, who is also the Minister responsible for the Malaysia Day Celebration 2021, also called on all Sarawakians to continue to place their trust in the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government led by Abang Johari.

“Given the high level of trust from the people towards the GPS government, it will enable them to be more focused.

“Thus able to carry out its duty in bringing Sarawak towards excellence, safeguarding Sarawak rights, as well as to ensure that Sarawak will continue to progress and achieve the status of a high-income State by 2030,” he said. – DayakDaily
