KUCHING, Dec 6: The passing of Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin is a significant loss to Sabah, said Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, reflecting on his decades-long friendship and parliamentary collaboration with the late leader.
In a Facebook post, Tiong described Bung Moktar as not only a colleague in Parliament for nearly 30 years but also a trusted friend who shared in facing numerous challenges.
He praised Bung Moktar’s principled leadership, particularly in matters concerning public welfare, national development, and rural communities.
“Many knew him as outspoken and firm, but behind that was a leader with strong principles. He spoke courageously and fairly, standing by me in difficult times, and I will never forget his honesty and generosity,” Tiong said.
He added that Bung Moktar was a dependable figure who never shirked responsibility, noting their moments of debate, camaraderie, and cooperation over the years.
Tiong concluded by expressing his condolences to Bung Moktar’s family, highlighting the void left in Parliament, Sabah, and among all who knew him.
“May his soul rest in peace, and may his family remain strong during this difficult time,” he said.
