KUCHING, Oct 27: The Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM) Sarawak has detained 203 foreign nationals in an early morning operation targeting two plywood factories in Bintulu for employing undocumented workers.

According to a Facebook post by JIM Sarawak today, the Safety and Enforcement Monitoring Unit (UPKP) of JIM Sarawak carried out the “Ops Sapu” operation around 2am on October 26, 2025.

The operation involved a team of 23 enforcement officers.

A total of 357 individuals were inspected at the two premises. The 203 detained individuals were suspected of committing various immigration offences, including violations under Section 6(1)(c) and Section 56(1)(l) of the Immigration Act.

Of those detained, 129 were men and 74 were women. All individuals have been sent to the Immigration Detention Depot for further investigation. —DayakDaily
