BINTULU, July 6: The BDA Sports Hall Vaccination Centre (PPV) which started operating yesterday will help enhance the rollout of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (Pick) in Bintulu Division.

According to Bintulu Divisional Health Officer Dr Melvin Chung Hsien Liang, the PPV was opened to focus on vaccinating residents in the Sungai Plan area and at the same time, is for those who have an appointment through the MySejahtera app.

“We hope that with the addition of a PPV, we can further enhance the coverage of the vaccination programme in Bintulu Division.

“So far, we have managed to give more than 500 doses of vaccines to the residents of Sungai Plan and those who have an appointment in MySejahtera,” he told Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) when met after visiting the BDA Sports Hall PPV.

Chung said the PPV’s daily operating hours are the same as other PPVs.

“The operation of the PPV is similar to the other public PPVs at Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB) and Dinner World which are open daily to vaccinate the community in Bintulu,” he added.

He also said that once all the residents in Sungai Plan have been vaccinated, the PPV would still continue operating with residents in other high-risk areas expected to come for the Covid-19 vaccinations. — DayakDaily
