KUCHING, Dec 1: Only Pfizer Covid-19 booster doses are offered for free at public vaccination centres (PPVs) and health clinics (KK) in Sarawak.
In general practitioner (GP) clinics or private medical centres, Pfizer and Sinovac booster vaccines are available in the ratio of 7 to 3, revealed Minister for Local Government and Housing Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian said
“I was told JKNS (Sarawak State Health Department) allocated the (booster) vaccines in 70 per cent Pfizer and 30 per cent Sinovac.
“You may not be able to have your choice of vaccine on the day if the vaccine quota allocated has finished,” he said in a social media post yesterday.
Dr Sim expressed thanks to JKNS for making both vaccines available as booster shots effective today for eligible Sarawakians aged 18 and above.
He thus advised Sarawakians to check for MySejahtera appointments from time to time or to contact listed GP clinics or private medical centres for vaccination arrangements.
“A good vaccine is one that is in the body rather than that sitting on the shelf. Let’s get boosted (sic). Together, we shall overcome Covid-19,” he added. — DayakDaily
