KUCHING, May 27:  Kuching South City Council (MBKS) has decided that hawkers in Kenyalang Market are required to produce negative Covid-19 swab test to operate tomorrow.

MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng made the announcement today through a press statement, stating that those with negative swabs are allowed to operate when the market opens tomorrow.

“The Council would like to clarify that the hawkers in Kenyalang Market are required to produce their swab results before they are allowed to operate.

“And only those with negative swab results are allowed to open and operate their stalls starting tomorrow,” said Wee.

For the safety of the public, he informed the public that Kenyalang Market has been sanitized and deemed fit for operation.

“The Council would like to assure the public that the Kenyalang Market is safe and operation is back to normal but keep in mind to always follow the standard perating procedure (SOP) as the fight is not over yet.

“Stay vigilant and stay alert with your surroundings. Keep yourself safe for your family,” said Wee who made a site inspection at Kenyalang Market together with Cr Goh Tze Hui and Cr Kho Teck Wan today.

He said site inspection was done to ensure all hawkers are complying with MBKS’ requirement where only those with negative swab tests can operate as usual. — DayakDaily
