MUKAH, Sept 10: A single-vehicle accident early this morning claimed the life of one passenger and left two others with minor injuries along Jalan Kampung Bedengan.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Mukah responded to the emergency at 4.48am, dispatching a team of firefighters to the scene.
Upon arrival, the team confirmed that the accident involved a Proton Saga carrying three passengers.
Two of the victims had already been assisted out of the vehicle by members of the public, while one remained trapped in the rear seat.
Using specialised rescue tools, firefighters successfully extricated the trapped passenger, who was later pronounced dead by paramedics from the Ministry of Health (MOH).
The driver and the remaining passenger sustained minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
The deceased has been handed over to the police for further investigation.
