SARIKEI, Aug 29: A 30-year-old man has died while a 41-year-old man sustained head injuries after their logistics truck collided with a fertiliser-laden truck at KM30 Jalan Bukit Berayang near Bukit Sebangkoi.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said a team from the Sarikei Station was despatched to the location following a distress call at 5.49am today.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered both the driver and passenger of the logistics truck were unconscious and pinned inside the vehicle.
Both occupants of the fertiliser truck emerged from the collision unscathed.
Firefighters swiftly acted to extricate both unconscious victims from the logistics truck.
The 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the Ministry of Health, while the victim with head injuries was transported to the hospital for further medical attention.
The operation ended at 6.35am after the rescue team ensured the safety of the accident site. — DayakDaily
