One Covid-19 fatality reported, national death toll now at 77

KUCHING, April 13: A 62-year-old Malaysian man is the 77th victim to succumb to Covid-19, revealed Ministry of Health (MoH) director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Dr Noor Hisham in a press conference today said that the matter was reported by the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) earlier today.

This latest death bring the total number of fatalities due to Covid-19 in Malaysia to 77 cases, which is equivalence to 1.6 per cent of the total number of positive cases reported.

“The 77th death case, which is case number 2,797, was a 62-year-old Malaysian male, with a history of heart problems, high blood pressure, and kidney disease.

“The deceased was also one of the participants in the Sri Petaling gathering, and received treatment at Melaka Hospital on March 31, 2020. He was confirmed dead today (April 13, 2020), at 9am,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dr Noor Hisham also revealed that the cluster of import cases from Italy in Kuching recorded an increase of five cases.

The Kuching churches conference cluster remains at 117 cases. — DayakDaily
