KUCHING, Sept 20: The renowned Oktoberfest at La Promenade Mall has returned with free performances and an upgraded festival setting, kicking off yesterday evening (Sept 19).
The event will take place every weekend from 5.30pm to midnight until Oct 5, with festivalgoers set to enjoy a wide array of food vendors, drinks, bar areas, games, prizes and giveaways.
Hock Seng Lee (HSL) marketing communications lead Abraham Tiong said the festival continues its successful mix of good food, fresh beer and lively music.
“This time we’ve upgraded the marquee, stage and sound so there’s even more room—and reason—to dance,” he said in a statement.
Partnering with the What About Kuching (WAK) festival for the third consecutive year, the event will feature returning favourites Mozaik and Time Signature, as well as newcomers such as High Breed, with support from the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak (MTCP).
“Time Signature is back because their singalongs went viral in 2024—the crowd absolutely loved them,” said mall leasing manager Angeline Ong.
The food line-up features La Promenade Mall’s own eateries including Terrace, Iced Bar and Aomori, alongside partners such as JP Mart and popular favourites from the recent Kuching Food Festival.
Oktoberfest at La Promenade has become a fixture on Kuching’s social calendar since its debut in 2022, drawing large crowds for its festive mix of music, food and family-friendly activities. — DayakDaily
