Number of rabies-infected areas in Sarawak rises to 56

KUCHING, Dec 4: Two new areas were declared as rabies-infected today, bringing the total to 56 the number of rabies-positive localities in the state.

Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the two areas are Jalan Beraya Kejapil in Subis District and Pasar Baru Lubok Antu in Lubok Antu District.

The declaration was made in accordance with Section 37(1) of the Veterinary Public Health Ordinance 1999 [Cap,32]. — DayakDaily
