“Sports and recreational activities are very important to ensure a good level of mental health and physical fitness.

“Therefore, this activity is allowed by complying with physical distancing and is done in open areas (outdoors) including semi-open (areas) from 6am to 10pm,” he said when announcing the allowances for individuals who had completed their Covid-19 vaccination

His speech was carried live by major media outlets including via an RTM livestream on Facebook today.

Muhyiddin also said that dine-in activities in restaurants or cafes on club house premises are permitted.

“However, premises owners need to ensure that those entering the premises for dine-in must show a digital certificate of Covid-19 vaccination, showing that the individual has completed vaccination.

“Meanwhile, the operation of the dressing room or bathroom on the club house premises is not permitted. This is to prevent grouping after sports and reduce the risk of infection,” he added.

He also mentioned that sports activities allowed are jogging, exercise, taichi, cycling, skateboarding, fishing, equestrian, archery, climbing, tennis (singles), badminton (singles), golf, motoring and the likes.

Further details will be released by the National Security Council (NSC) in the near future.

At the same time, Muhyiddin disclosed that allowances pertaining to economic sector are currently being discussed and considered at the NSC Special Session and will be announced in the near future. — DayakDaily
