KUCHING, May 9: A MASwings twin otter plane carrying two passengers and two pilots partly ended up in a drain after making a landing at Long Seridan Airport, Miri this morning.

In a Facebook post about an hour ago, Mulu assemblyman Datuk Gerawat Gala informed that no one was injured in the incident.

“Thank God that the two passengers and both pilots of the MASwings plane which landed in Long Seridan from Miri this morning are safe without injuries, after the plane ended partly in the airport drain upon landing,” he said.

The deputy speaker added that he had contacted MASwings chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director as well as Minister of Transport Datuk Lee Kim Shin about the incident.

“I was informed that MASWings is investigating the incident,” he added.

While waiting for the result of the investigation by MASwings and relevant authorities, Gerawat advised netizens and the public to not speculate on the cause of the incident.—DayakDaily
