LAWAS, Aug 20: A nine-foot-long python with a noticeably bloated belly was successfully captured by members of the Civil Defence Force (APM) Lawas District this morning after it slithered into a chicken coop near a surau in Bukit Naga.

According to APM, the operation was carried out following an emergency call at 8.35am from a local resident, Haji Muntul, who reported the presence of the snake in the coop.

Acting promptly, four APM personnel were dispatched to the scene and arrived at 8.43am. The snake-catching operation commenced a minute later at 8.44am and was completed in just 12 minutes.

APM confirmed that the situation remained safe and under control throughout the operation, with no untoward incidents reported. — DayakDaily
