KANOWIT, May 30: A total of 37 rural transformation programme (RTP) projects will be implemented in Ngemah utilising the RM5 million RTP fund allocated annually.

According to its assemblyman Anyi Jana, RM1.1 million has been allocated for the first phase of the minor rural project (MRP) for the area.

“The RTP projects will be for infrastructure development such as for houses, roads, and treated water,” he said after attending a Ziarah Ukas programme organised by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) in conjunction with Gawai Dayak at Rumah Aji Nanga Tada here.

On the MRP, he said for Nanga Tada, they have distributed the funds to nine village security and development committees (JKKK) for the first phase.

Meanwhile, in relation to the Gawai festivities, he also advised residents to continue observing the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set despite entering the endemic stage for Covid-19.

“I hope this Gawai will bring new light to residents of Ngemah as we had a subdued celebration for two years. Though it looks like the Covid-19 situation has gotten better, we should continue to observe the SOPs,” he advised.

Also present were political secretary to the Premier of Sarawak, Susan Clement, and Ukas Sibu division supervisor, Jelani Ajang. — DayakDaily
