Ngemah rep to defend Supreme Council seat at PRS polls despite calls to aim higher

KUCHING, Sept 5: Ngemah assemblyman Anyi Jana has confirmed that he will seek to retain his seat as a Supreme Council Member of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) at the party’s Triennial Delegates Conference (TDC) next month, despite calls for him to contest a higher post.

In a statement to TVS today, Anyi explained that his priority remains carrying out his duties as Ngemah’s elected representative while also fostering stronger unity among PRS members.

“Although there have been suggestions from several PRS divisions for me to contest a higher position, my priority at this time is to ensure the unity and strength of the party are preserved, especially in the run-up to the coming election,” he said.

He also expressed confidence that this TDC will proceed smoothly, with a spirit of camaraderie and maturity demonstrated by PRS members.

“As a people’s representative and a member of the party leadership, I remain committed to assisting PRS leadership in ensuring the continuity of the party,” he added. — DayakDaily
