‘Ngelumbong’ ceremony held for late Tan Sri James Jemut Masing

KUCHING, Feb 3: A ‘ngelumbong’ ceremony was held to honour the late Tan Sri Datuk Amar James Jemut Masing at his residence in Bukit Goram, Kapit, on Wednesday (Feb 2).

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, during the ceremony, a short video about the former Deputy Chief Minister’s life journey was also screened for family members and friends present.

The atmosphere was heartfelt because it was a farewell ceremony and the last tribute for the late Masing by his family.


The ceremony was attended by Hulu Rajang MP Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong, Minister for Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi and Minister in the Chief Minister Department, who is also Kakus assemblyman Datuk John Sikie Tayai.

Also present were Assistant Minister for Ministry of Infrastructure and Port Development Majang Renggi, Ngemah assemblyman Anyi Jana, Murum assemblyman Kennedy Chukpai Ugon, Belaga assemblyman Datuk Liwan Lagang, Balai Ringin assemblyman Datuk Snowdan Lawan and other distinguished guests.

Meanwhile, a ‘ngelumbong’ ceremony also held in the remembrance of Baleh assemblyman Nicholas Kudi’s parents at his residence, also in Kapit.

The small ceremony was attended by several dignitaries and friends. — DayakDaily
