BINTULU, June 11: A 24-year-old newlywed woman was killed while her 25-year-old husband sustained severe injuries after they were ejected from their car by the impact of a horrific accident along Bintulu-Samalaju coastal road this morning (June 11).
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to the emergency at 7.22am and swiftly mobilised a team of firefighters to the scene.
Initial reports indicated that the victims were ejected from their Perodua Bezza on impact, with their bodies found metres apart from each other. The car was completely wrecked and landed on its side.
The woman, from Bintulu, died at the scene, and her remains were handed over to the police for further procedures.
Her husband from Niah, Miri, was transported to the hospital in an ambulance from the Ministry of Health.
Firefighters conducted flushing to clear debris from the road and ensure the safety of the site.
Police from Samalaju and Bintulu stations, including traffic investigation officers, were present to assess the scene. — DayakDaily
