BAU, Oct 7: The new St Leo Church project at Kampung Serasot Bau is still short of RM554,000 as it aims for completion by January 2022.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), church chairman Andrew Mindil said the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) has allocated RM200,000 for the project while Tasik Biru assemblyman Dato Henry Harry Jinep has contributed RM100,000 from the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) under his constituency to the project.

“The project which is costing RM1.36 million is still short of RM554,000,” Andrew said, adding the church will apply for additional funding from Unifor.

In the meantime, Andrew said Henry made a site visit last Tuesday (Oct 5) to check on the progress of the church construction as well as the facilities needed. — DayakDaily
