KUCHING, Feb 7: A new access road linking SK Sentebu to the Sarikei Bypass is expected to significantly shorten travel time and improve daily commutes for families in Kuala Rajang.

Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Natural Resources Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the road project represents a major connectivity upgrade that will provide a safer and faster route for residents.

“With the new access road, travel time from Sarikei to the school will be reduced, and this will facilitate parents from the Susur Jambu area who travel daily to send their children to school,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday (Feb 6) after his team conducted an inspection visit to the site.

The visit was part of a broader technical inspection of several ongoing infrastructure projects across the Kuala Rajang constituency to monitor progress, ensure quality standards, and reaffirm the government’s commitment to strengthening rural development.

Also inspected was the construction of a new surau in Kampung Warisan, which will provide a larger and more comfortable space for worship while fostering closer ties among villagers.

In Sare, the delegation also reviewed the upgrading works of Dewan Penghulu Adin, which will be transformed into a more modern and functional community hall capable of accommodating various community and social activities. — DayakDaily
