KUCHING, July 13: A new Puspakom (Computerised Vehicle Inspection Center) centre in Kota Samarahan will begin operating in August.
Minister of Transport Sarawak Datuk Lee Kim Shin said the old Puspakom in Pending will close its doors on July 27 in light of this.
“Puspakom will be able to increase their capacity from 500 to 700 vehicles daily at the new centre.
“So I hope the facility here will be more efficient so that all the commercial vehicles do not have to wait long to get an appointment to get their commercial vehicle license renewed” he told reporters during his visit to the new Puspakom Inspection Centre Kota Samarahan today.
On the same note, Lee also proposed to Puspakom to expand their service capacity in Miri and Sibu after both centers has reached almost 80 per cent capacity.
He added that there is a need for expansion, especially in Miri, where more commercial activities are coming up following the expansion of oil and gas industries into land operations. — DayakDaily
