The Miri MMEA Complex, designed with modern and sophisticated facilities, aims to enhance the operational capabilities and morale of MMEA personnel.

This project is part of the government’s broader efforts to safeguard Sarawak’s maritime borders by improving support services and overall security readiness in the Miri region and the northern part of Sarawak.

The complex features 95 residential units, including 80 Class F units and 15 Class D units, complete with essential amenities such as bedrooms, bathrooms, living and dining areas, and storage. Additionally, the site includes an administrative building, support facilities, surau, jetty, car and motorcycle parking spaces, and various other related infrastructure.

Special Project Team 2 (PPK2) from Public Works Department (JKR) Malaysia oversaw the construction.

Work began on June 19, 2020 and concluded on schedule, with the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CPC) issued on Sept 27 this year.

The RM118.3 million project, executed using a design-and-build method, reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing national security and development in Sarawak.

With the handover complete, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Miri MMEA can now proceed with equipping the complex and preparing for operational use. The complex is expected to officially begin operations soon, following the necessary testing of equipment.

Nanta expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Home Affairs and Miri MMEA for their trust and collaboration, which contributed to the successful completion of the project. — DayakDaily
