KUCHING, Oct 1: A new community cluster, dubbed the Sepangah Cluster, has been identified in Limbang involving longhouse residents, with a total of 22 confirmed positive cases so far.
State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in the daily Covid-19 report today, said the related longhouse is located in Sepangah, Nanga Medamit of Limbang.
From the total of 178 individuals screened, 22 including the index case were found positive for Covid-19 while the test results for 156 other individuals returned negative.
All positive cases from the Sepangah Cluster were brought to the Limbang Hospital and the Covid-19 low-risk quarantine and treatment center (PKRC) in Limbang district for further treatment and isolation.
Meanwhile, SDMC also announced the end of three clusters today (Oct 1), namely the Ladang Hijau 01 Cluster in Beluru, Kampung Panggil Cluster in Sri Aman, and Pengkalan Cluster in Bau, after zero new cases were reported involving the clusters in the past 28 days.
The committee said, some 108 clusters in the State remain active, while 101 other clusters reported zero additional new cases.
As of today, it added, a total of 49 new cases were reported from seven active clusters, namely the Bungei Cluster (31 cases), Batu 8 Jalan Kubong Cluster (4), Pinang Jawa Cluster (4), Giam Cluster (3), Sungai Tangap Cluster (3), Ensebang Plaie Cluster (2), and Annah Rais Cluster (2). — DayakDaily
