New longhouse cluster in Ulu Sangan records 12 cases so far

KUCHING, June 14: A new Covid-19 cluster dubbed the Ulu Sangan Cluster has been declared in Tatau.

The longhouse at the centre of the cluster has been placed under an Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO), after 12 individuals tested positive for the Covid-19 today.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the community cluster was a result of social interaction and close contact among the longhouse residents.

ā€œA total of 59 individuals were screened and 12 cases tested positive for the virus, including the index case, while 47 other cases are still awaiting laboratory test results,ā€ it said.

SDMC added all of the positive cases from the cluster have been admitted to Bintulu Hospital and Bintulu Low-Risk Treatment and Quarantine Centre (PKRC) for isolation and further treatment. ā€” DayakDaily
