KUCHING, Aug 16: Two community clusters dubbed Kampung Kakeng Cluster and Kampung Bunga Serian Cluster were identified in Serian today after a total of 87 individuals were found positive for Covid-19.
According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, the first community cluster was detected involving a few families living in Kampung Kakeng along Serian-Tebedu road, Serian.
“Out of the 94 individuals screened, 61 of them including the index case, were found positive for Covid-19 while another one is still waiting for the laboratory test result,” the committee said.
The second community cluster, SDMC said, involved a few families residing in Kampung Bunga in Jalan Baki of Serian.
“A total of 58 individuals were screened from the cluster and 26 of them were found positive, including the index case, while 32 other individuals were negative,” it said.
SDMC added all of the positive individuals from both clusters were brought to Covid Assessment Centre (CAC) in Serian and Samarahan districts for isolation and treatment. — DayakDaily
