New Kg Sibu Laut community hall built at a cost of RM200,000

KUCHING, Dec 5: The completion of a new community hall at Kampung Sibu Laut will enable the local residents to carry out community activities.

According to a report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, Assistant Minister of Utilities (Water Supply) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said the new community hall which cost RM200,000, was built under the Pantai Damai Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) funds.

“Before this, it was difficult to carry community activities (in Kampung Sibu Laut) due the limited space.

“Now with this community hall, the villagers can carry out various programmes and activities,” he said during the launching ceremony for the hall on Friday (Dec 3, 2021).

Dr Abdul Rahman added that the village also has basic facilities such as clean water supply, electricity and telecommunications.

Also present were Kampung Sibu Laut village head Senep Yassin and head of Public Works Department (JKR) Kuching Development Sector Sahril Matnoor. — DayakDaily
