New Jalan Baru Tatau-Bintulu Cluster infects 22 individuals at workplace

KUCHING, June 21: The State Health Department (JKNS) today has declared one new cluster in Tatau dubbed as Jalan Baru Tatau-Bintulu Cluster after 22 individuals were found positive for Covid-19.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the Jalan Baru Tatau-Bintulu Cluster, was a workplace cluster involving a workers’ quarters of a company located in Jalan Baru along Tatau-Bintulu road, Tatau, which has been placed under Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).

“A total of 66 individuals have been screened, with 22 positive cases detected including the index case, while 44 other cases are still waiting for the laboratory test result,” the committee said in a press statement today.


SDMC said all of the positive Covid-19 cases from the cluster have been admitted to Bintulu Hospital as well as in Bintulu district quarantine and low-risk patients treatment center (PKRC) for isolation and further treatment. — DayakDaily
