New Covid-19 cases in Sarawak remain above 200 mark with 206 cases

KUCHING, Feb 14: New Covid-19 cases in Sarawak remained above the 200 mark today, with 206 new local infection cases reported.

According to Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, of the total new cases reported, one case is under Category 3 with lung infection, 95 cases under Category 2 (mild symptoms), and 110 cases under Category 1 (asymptomatic).

By district, Miri topped the list with 66 cases, followed by Kuching with 64 cases, Sibu with 36 cases, and Kapit with 21 cases.

Nine other districts reported single-digit cases, namely Meradong (6), Bintulu (4), two cases each from Samarahan and Kanowit, and one case each from Sarikei, Serian, Sri Aman, Asajaya, and Beluru.

Today, two clusters are still active in the State, namely Jalan Kolej Cluster and Kampung Semeba Cluster, and no new cases were reported from both clusters.

Meanwhile, 15 individuals were compounded by the police in Kuching for failure to register their attendance using the MySejahtera application before entering premises.

Another 44 individuals were also compounded by the Ministry of Health (MoH) in Bintulu (22), Sibu (12), Serian (5), Kuching (2), Sarikei (2) and Miri (1) for breaching various Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs). ā€• DayakDaily
