KUCHING, Sept 30: A mass screening is underway for 229 individuals linked to the new Batu 8 Jalan Kubong Cluster which centres on a longhouse at Batu 8, Jalan Kubong, Ulu Pandaruan in Limbang.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said 18 Covid-19 cases have been detected so far while laboratory test results are pending for 211 samples.
Positive cases from the cluster have been admitted to Limbang Hospital and a Low-risk Treatment and Quarantine Centre (PKRC).
Other active Covid-19 clusters that registered new infections today were Long Urun (12), Bungey 2 (2), and Batu 13 Jalan Puncak Borneo (2).
The Sibuluh-Nowang, Opar, Tembok Limbang, Kampung Segedup, and Kampung Sikog clusters each recorded one new Covid-19 patient.
Meanwhile, six clusters comprising the Long Maktub Cluster in Sebauh; Ladang 0004 Kuala Baram Cluster in Marudi, Jalan Bintulu-Bakun Cluster in Bintulu; Jalan Kilang Pending, Pasaraya Batu Kawa, and Persiaran Silicon clusters in Kuching were declared ended today after reporting zero new cases in the past 28 days.
That leaves 110 active clusters in Sarawak as of today. — DayakDaily
