KUCHING, Nov 3: Sarawak’s new Covid-19 cases increase slightly to 540 from 528 yesterday while Kuching and Miri reported triple digits case count.
This brought the cumulative cases of the coronavirus in the State to 242,592 to date.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement said of the new cases, only six cases were classified as critical.
Four patients in Category 4 required oxygen support, two patients in Category 5 were intubated while there were none in Category 3.
There were 349 Covid-19 patients having mild symptoms while another 185 were asymptomatic Covid-19 patients.
By district, Kuching had the highest number of new cases with 174 reported followed by Miri with 126 cases.
Districts which reported double-digit cases include Sibu (54), Bintulu (32), Limbang (23), Serian (18) and Samarahan (12).
Areas that registered single digit case were Kanowit (9), Daro (8), Kapit (7), Bau (7), Tanjung Manis (6), Pusa (6), Sri Aman (5), Betong (5), Belaga (5), Saratok (5), Lundu (5), Sarikei (3), Dalat (3), Mukah (3), Kabong (3), Simunjan (3), Subis (3), Tebedu (3), Selangau (2), Marudi (2), Matu (2), Song (1), Asajaya (1), Julau (1), Beluru (1), Bukit Mabong (1) and Sebauh (1).
Six districts namely Lawas, Meradong, Lubok Antu, Telang Usan, Pakan and Tatau reported zero Covid-19 cases.
On the other hand, nine Covid-19 deaths reported today bringing cumulative deaths to 1,382.
No new cluster of Covid-19 was recorded today. In spite of that, two active clusters namely Ensurai Cluster and Putai 2 Cluster reported a total of nine new Covid-19 cases.
There were a total of 27 active clusters of Covid-19 in Sarawak while 25 active clusters reported zero new Covid-19 cases. — DayakDaily
