Natural Avenue donates RM18,000 for Kuching Fest CASH Martial Arts Display

KUCHING, Aug 6: Natural Avenue Sdn Bhd today donated a sum of RM18,000 for the Kuching Festival CASH Martial Arts Display which will be held at the State Hockey Stadium starting 7.30pm on August 17.

According to a press release, this is the 16th consecutive year Natural Avenue Sdn Bhd has consented to be the main sponsor of the Kuching Festival CASH Martial Arts Display.

Kuching South City Commission (MBKS) mayor Datuk James Chan Khay Syn thanked the company for its continuous support of the Kuching Festival, in particular the Kuching Festival CASH Martial Arts Display which has greatly helped to defray part of the running expenses.


Chan in the statement said that Kuching Festival CASH Martial Arts Display will see the participation of 1,100 martial art exponents showcasing their skills and talents.

“This event would be a package of martial arts in demonstration under one presentation as those taking part would be representing wushu, taichi, silat, kuntau and muaythai,” he said after receiving the mock cheque from Natural Avenue Sdn Bhd at his office today.

“Martial Arts Display aims to promote greater understanding among the people, in that (martial arts) is also a healthy exercise particularly among the youths, on the diversity of Sarawak’s culture, and cultivate goodwill, tolerance and spirit of unity,” he added.

He also lauded participants for jointly mounting this display and he thanked them for their time, efforts and contributions which would make another interesting and exciting event for Kuching Festival 2019.

Chan urged members of the public to see the showcase in order to obtain better insight into the world of martial arts and arouse keen interest in these activities.

Natural Avenue Sdn Bhd general manager Ching Chun Keat, its senior administrative manager Lincoln Leong, agency betting operation senior manager Angeline Yeo and MBKS councillors were also present at the handing over of the mock cheque. — DayakDaily
