During the meeting, he praised Wan Junaidi as an intelligent leader and statesman who has published numerous publications and written works.

“We have discussed making a study of figures not only at the Sarawak level but also at the international level.

“I am very impressed and happy with Tun Dr Wan Junaidi, as a philosopher who has many books and works… his works are not imagination, but reality.

“As a legal expert and a seasoned politician, Wan Junaidi sets a remarkable example for future generations of Malaysians,” he said when met by the media after the courtesy call.

Dr Abdul Latiff further said that Wan Junaidi is a ‘jewel’ from Sarawak that should be popularised in the form of a book.

“I will consult with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) to study the legacy and struggle of Tun Dr Wan Junaidi as a national figure,” he added.

He also informed that the delegation had invited Wan Junaidi as the guest of honour to present awards to national figures at the Borneo Art and Culture Conference Award (BACA) 2024, which will be held on Sept 12.

Among the awards are ‘Borneo Literature’s Award’, ‘Borneo Writer’s Award’ and ‘Borneo Book Award’. — DayakDaily
