KUALA LUMPUR: An aquatics coach, said to have been involved in the recent 2017 Kuala Lumpur Sea Games, has been arrested over claims that he had raped a national trainee, reports the New Straits Times.
Sources said the male suspect in his 30s is from China. He was arrested after the victim lodged a police report on Sunday.
It is learnt that the victim is a backup diver for the Malaysian team in the recent Kuala Lumpur Sea Games.
It could not be established at press time whether the alleged rape occurred during or after the tournament.
City police chief Datuk Amar Singh confirmed the arrest, saying that police are currently investigating the matter.
